MONDAY NOTE

Posted by Toronto Girl

All I can tell you on this Monday morning is that hard work eventually comes into bloom. I read in Malcom Gladwell's The Outliers  that it takes 10, 000 hours to become really great at something. It reminded me of my friend Marina, who works the craziest hours in a job that is meaningful and fulfilling. I call her crazy, but maybe she is just smart/lucky. She has found something that she loves and by putting so many hours to learning her craft and perfecting it she is getting herself ready, so that when the opportunity to really shine comes along she will be more than ready to blind us all!

What is your passion?  What are you doing to master your craft? What opportunities are you looking for?

I wish it was easy to get full time meaningful work in my passion of journalism so instead I try and spend those same hours working on my freelance aspirations.

p.s. I tried to read that book while I was in LA but I found it too boring :(

No Shannon!! I can't believe you said it was boring. I love that book. After I read it I was so inspired. I thought wow, if all it takes is hard work, and faith that the right opportunities/ people will come along when you're ready then I'll just continue to work my butt off ...
But anyways, what speaks to me might not necessarily speak to you.
    I still think you're brilliant :)
