Call me a hopeless
romantic, call me a cheese ball, but I think there's nothing better than a summer night spent looking up at the stars. Unfortunately (or fortunately for those of you that just gagged a little) such thing can not be done in the city. Too much pollution they say. Well, since the sky is the limit and I am super resourceful, I figured out a way to go star gazing and you don't have to leave the city or spend a penny. You're welcome.
The first Thursday of every month the U of T Astronomy D
epartment offers public tours. The tour starts with a 30 minute lecture on something beyond fascinating and ends with a tour of the telescopes. On clear nights you might be able to observe the moon, planets and double stars. Next tour is on Thursday , June 3 @ 9pm.

Just to add to this, York University also has public viewings, and this maybe be more useful for those who live in the north and cannot go all the way downtown. Here's the link for more info on it: http://www.physics.yorku.ca/observatory/index.html#viewing
Wow! thanks for that amazing tid bit.
